HAPPY BIRTHDAY NOAH!!!

Today was little Noah's first birthday, so naturally I made a Noah's ark cake and cupcakes. I was really excited to do work on the animals and all the little details that made this cake special. I loaded the ark up with lions, zebras, pandas, giraffes, an ostrich, monkey and hippo while a white dove flies overhead with an olive colored one its beak. The cake was yummy marble with light blue vanilla frosting. Thanks for letting me make a cool cake for a cool boy! Happy birthday and many more!

LUAU CAKE AND CUPCAKES

It's one of those years where the my kids with fall and winter birthdays insisted upon another "fake birthday party," so that they could have a pool party. Because I was expecting a huge crowd, I had to make tons of cake and cupcakes. I made 50 red velvet/cream cheese and lemon/lemon cupcakes topped with a variety of tropical toppers. The birthday cake was inspired by the party city napkin's floral theme. It was very yummy marble cake with chocolate frosting. Best of all, it was such an AWESOME party!

ROCK 'N ROLL BABY!!!

I know I always say this, but I was really excited to do this cake. I have never done a black cake and I always wanted to do that diamond pattern on the side so this was my chance. I just kept blinging it out until I couldn't bling anymore. Thanks so much for letting me make a "rocker princess" cake. Happy 8th birthday Carson. I hope you loved it!!!

CONGRATULATIONS GRADUATES!

Whether it's preschool or nursing school, May is all about graduation. I put together a bunch of toppers recently that celebrate this momentous occasion in the lives of my neighbors. I have to say that I love, love, love the nurse set and who doesn't love Hello Kitty? The toppers and the cupcakes were enjoyed by all.

ROBOT CAKE

I have been hoping to do a robot cake, because I love all things retro, so this was exciting to me. Unfortunately, I couldn't get that crazy Styx song out of my head while working on this cake. This robot cake is hiding a super-moist organic chocolate cake with creamy strawberry frosting under his fondant skin. Not to be confused with those robots without emotions, this robot wishes his buddy Quinn a "happy birthday" and sports the birthday boy's favorite colors of green and orange. Happy birthday little buddy. Domo arigato mom and dad!

¡¡¡Feliz cumpleaƱos Karla!!!

This three-tier quinceaƱera cake was designed for Karla, a lovely young lady, celebrating her 15th birthday this evening. The cake was such a great match for all of the girls' beautiful dresses and the party's color scheme. The top and bottom tiers are chocolate and chocolate ganache, the middle is vanilla with chocolate buttercream. The cupcakes are marble with coordinating purple and yellow vanilla bean frosting. They were so good!!!

Garden Gourmet cupcakes

Today is my son's teacher's birthday and she loves yummy treats and gardening, hence the garden gourmet cupcakes. These red velvet and cream cheese cupcakes are topped with handmade fondant strawberries and strawberry blossoms, shasta daisies and little rolled rosettes.
